JABI OMR
JABI OMR is an Offsite Meter Reading system through which the meter readers use radio-equipped handheld computers to read radio-equipped meters, without the need to access the meters or the customer premise. As a meter reader walks through a route, the handheld computer sends a radio "wake-up" signal to nearby meters. The handheld then receives the meter reading from the meter. At the end of the tour, readings are uploaded to the server, validated, and sent to the billing system.
JABI OMR enhances the overall data collection process. It significantly reduces costs compared to manual and electronic meter reading systems, while eliminating manual data entry errors. This method allows for accurate readings to be conveniently obtained from meters installed in hard to access locations, improving meter reading efficiency and customer satisfaction. Searching for the right address or meter number and manually entering meter readings is not necessary any more. This technology provides a safe way to collect meter readings without the need to see the meter. JABI OMR is designed to be used with walk-by or drive-by applications.
